The Rape and Abuse Crisis Center is seeking a NoViolence Coordinator to join our team—Monday - Friday with occasional evening shifts.”

POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: NoViolence Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Program Services

STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

REPORTS TO: NoViolence Supervisor

PURPOSE

The NoViolence Coordinator position will ensure provision of services to individuals who have used violence in their relationships. Services include education that will identify and challenge the beliefs that support violence as well as meet requirements for court-ordered programming.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. NOVIOLENCE PROGRAM COORDINATION: Assists with coordinating the delivery and documentation of services to those who have used violence in their relationships using a curriculum that meets court requirements.

2. OFFENDER EDUCATION: Provides education to court-ordered offenders to help break cycles of violence.

3. COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Fosters community relationships that strengthen the organization's ability to serve victims of sexual violence and domestic violence, as well as those who have used violence in their intimate partner relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence, preferably in a trauma-informed setting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Extensive understanding of the dynamics and impact of domestic and sexual violence
  • Knowledge of the legal system, relative to interpersonal violence and social justice
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, active listening, and critical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

RESPONSIBILITIES

NOVIOLENCE PROGRAM COORDINATION: Coordinates and evaluates the delivery and documentation of services to those who have used violence in their relationships using a curriculum that meets court requirements.

  • Assist with assessment, review, enrollment, and orientation for group members
  • Maintain necessary communication with collaborative community agencies
  • Coordinate payment and payment tracking
  • Facilitate weekly meetings for NoViolence staff members
  • Maintain trauma-informed contacts with partners to offenders
  • Maintain offender files and keep courts informed of individual progress

OFFENDER EDUCATION: Provides education to court-ordered offenders to help break cycles of violence.

  • Receive and maintain up-to-date, curriculum-based training for facilitation of groups in accordance with agency, local, and state standards
  • Participate in weekly co-facilitation of Amend groups
  • Attend weekly meetings to staff cases and collaborate with other group facilitators to improve facilitation skills and understanding

COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Fosters community relationships that strengthen the organization's ability to serve victims of sexual violence and domestic violence, as well as those who have used violence in their intimate partner relationships.

  • Gather and input necessary data for officials within probation and court systems
  • Represents RACC at appropriate events, and on committees, boards and task forces
  • Participate in Alliance to End Partner Abuse in North Dakota and Domestic Abuse Transformation Programming in Minnesota
  • Engage with criminal justice and judicial system to further advance the awareness of violence intervention programming

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

This work is primarily sedentary, requiring communicating clearly, seeing, hearing, talking, concentrating, reading, and operating office equipment such as a computer, calculator, copier, and scanner. Work is primarily in a climate-controlled area with office equipment level of noise.

Local travel is required.

EVALUATION The performance of the NoViolence Coordinator will be evaluated annually by the NoViolence Supervisor according to pre-determined objectives and policies.

Pay: $43,888.00 - $50,960.00 per year
