Responsibilities

  • Lead classroom activities that promote active learning, creativity, and social-emotional development for children across various age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Develop and implement innovative curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, incorporating literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where appropriate.
  • Manage daily classroom routines, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that supports individual learning styles and developmental needs.
  • Utilize effective behavior management strategies to foster positive behavior and emotional regulation among children.
  • Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
  • Collaborate with families through regular communication to share insights on their child's development and progress.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or childcare staff, providing guidance on lesson planning, classroom management, and child welfare best practices.
  • Maintain detailed records of lesson plans, student progress reports, incident reports, and compliance documentation in accordance with licensing requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities focused on early intervention techniques, special education strategies, literacy education, and inclusive practices.
  • Support the integration of physical activities and tutoring sessions that enhance motor skills and academic achievement.
  • Uphold health and safety standards within the classroom to ensure a secure environment for all children.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored to early childhood education standards.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and special education accommodations.
  • Experience with classroom management tools and lesson planning for diverse learners including toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Familiarity with Montessori methods or other educational philosophies is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
  • Ability to conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to evaluate student progress.
  • Prior experience working with children requiring early intervention or special education services is highly desirable.
  • Certification in early childhood education or related fields; additional qualifications in literacy education or physical education are a plus.
