Disability Counseling Services Inc (DCS Inc) is committed to providing direct services and brief counseling for those experiencing work-related stress and personal/social stressors. We equip our clients with vital tools to cope, manage and maintain healthy mental processes and behaviors.

We are searching for a motivated Associate Mental Health Practitioner to join our team!

Under supervision of the Clinical Director, the Associate Mental Health Practitioner administers counseling sessions to clients, as well as the required documentation for current clients. We serve a diverse group of clients on-site at our office in Oakland, Ca. We are seeking a dynamic and mission driven practitioner with a unique skill set and specialization of working with a diverse population to provide the highest level of care to our clients.

Minimum Requirements

• California State Board Registration (BBS)
• Bi-lingual skills are high preferred (Spanish)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop assessments, diagnoses, and maintain client progress notes.
• Conduct counseling sessions with clients
• Perform data entry related to patient file documentation.
• Produce and work accommodation documents for clients (e.g.: leave of absence slips, return to work notices, FMLA/CFRA/ADA paperwork).
• Review and complete insurance related documentation and forms

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Familiarity with working with inner-city ethnic populations

• Knowledgeable about insurance document completion and report writing.
• Second language is a plus but not required (Spanish)
• Ability to adapt to changes in a fast, growing & dynamic environment.
• Ability to effectively express your thoughts, ideas, and messages to diverse people in oral and written form.
• Familiarity of working in a clinic environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, at all times.
