Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups.
• Manage load securement and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety standards.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo details in compliance with federal regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and any issues encountered on the road.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during every trip.
• Assist with route planning to optimize efficiency and ensure consistent miles.

Skills

• Proven experience operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers in an OTR setting.
• Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is preferred.
• Strong driving skills with a focus on safety, load securement, and route driving efficiency.
• Ability to load & unload freight accurately using various equipment such as forklifts when required.
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures across different cargo types including refrigerated goods or heavy equipment.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and clients.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with relevant endorsements; experience with trucking equipment like flatbeds or tankers is a plus. Pay: $0.50 - $0.55 per mile
