Position Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and service-driven Part-Time Sommelier to join our team. This role is ideal for a wine professional who thrives in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment and is passionate about enhancing the guest experience through thoughtful wine service and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert wine recommendations tailored to guest preferences, menu selections, and occasion
  • Maintain deep knowledge of Fia’s wine list, including varietals, regions, producers, and vintages
  • Assist in tableside wine service, including proper presentation, decanting, and pairing guidance
  • Support staff wine education through pre-shift trainings and ongoing coaching
  • Collaborate with management on wine list maintenance, inventory, and organization
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of all wine inventory
  • Deliver elevated hospitality standards and anticipate guest needs

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a sommelier or strong wine-focused service role in an upscale restaurant
  • Formal wine education (WSET, CMS, or equivalent) preferred but not required
  • Strong understanding of classic and emerging wine regions
  • Excellent communication and guest engagement skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $17.81-$19.00/hr
  • Benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance (where applicable)

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, and work in a fast-paced kitchen and dining environment.
