Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled NPD (New Product Development) Engineer – Wiring Harness to join our engineering and development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, validating, and launching new wiring harness products based on customer requirements and internal innovation initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesNew Product Development

• Design and develop new wiring harness products in alignment with customer specifications and industry standards.
• Create 2D/3D drawings, schematics, and BOM using design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, EPLAN, Catia, or similar).
• Develop prototypes, conduct feasibility studies, and perform engineering validations.

Technical Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical schematics, connection diagrams, and harness routing layouts.
• Select components such as connectors, terminals, wires, sleeves, and protective materials.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (UL, IPC/WHMA-A-620, ISO, etc.).
• Support product costing, material selection, and design optimization for manufacturability.

Project & Customer Coordination

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Production, Purchasing, Tooling).
• Interact with customers for technical clarifications and project updates.
• Prepare technical documentation: DFMEA, PPAP, APQP, DVP&R, and ECN.
• Manage project timelines from concept to mass production.

Process Implementation

• Support development of assembly process sheets and work instructions.
• Assist in prototype builds, testing, and validation activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in NPD, Engineering, or Design of wiring harnesses (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software.
• Strong understanding of wiring harness materials, routing, component selection, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and other automotive/industrial development processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, and customer specifications.
• Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, or consumer electronics wiring harness development.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and documentation practices.
• Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
