NPD Executive – Nutraceuticals
Location: Super Highway, SITE II, Karachi

Experience: 1–2 years in import, regulatory affairs, or nutraceutical/pharmaceutical industry.

About the Role

We are looking for a technically qualified professional with a pharmacy background to join our procurement and NPD team. This role bridges international import coordination with new product development, requiring both regulatory knowledge and hands-on understanding of nutraceutical ingredients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and source raw materials based on technical specifications, including actives, excipients, botanical extracts, vitamins, and minerals.
  • Coordinate with international suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure compliant and timely imports of raw materials.
  • Review and verify technical documents — CoA, MSDS, and regulatory dossiers — for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in monthly raw material procurement planning to prevent production shortages.
  • Support NPD by researching ingredient efficacy, permissible dosages, and regulatory status (DRAP, FDA references).
  • Maintain documentation for organic, halal, and regulatory certifications.
  • Track ingredient trends and suggest cost-effective, compliant alternatives for international sourcing.
  • Collaborate with the formulation and sales teams on sample evaluation and feedback.

Education (Must Have): Pharm.D or B. Pharm from an HEC-recognized institution

Experience: 1–2 years in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food supplement industry (import, regulatory, or product development role preferred)

Technical Knowledge (Must Have):

  • Strong understanding of nutraceutical ingredients — vitamins, minerals, amino acids, botanical extracts, probiotics, and functional actives
  • Familiarity with ingredient regulatory frameworks (DRAP guidelines, GRAS status, permissible limits)
  • Ability to read and interpret CoAs, technical data sheets, and supplier documentation
  • Knowledge of GMP, food safety standards, and quality compliance in supplement manufacturing

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for procurement tracking)
  • Strong written and verbal communication for supplier correspondence
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and follow-up habits
