- Curriculum and lesson planning:
- Develop and implement a creative, age-appropriate curriculum focused on early literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- Plan and prepare materials for a variety of learning experiences, including play-based activities, stories, and art projects.
- Classroom management:
- Create a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Ensure the classroom is clean, hygienic, and complies with health and safety standards.
- Promote good behavior through positive reinforcement and clear expectations.
- Child development and assessment:
- Observe, monitor, and assess each child's development, including academic, social, and emotional progress.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare progress reports for parents.
- Support children in developing essential skills like language, problem-solving, and self-help.
- Communication and collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress and development.
- Collaborate with other teachers, assistants, and specialists to enhance curriculum and address individual needs.
- Support children's transition into and out of the nursery.
- Other duties:
- Organize and supervise activities, including meal and nap times.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Assist in the supervision of other staff and volunteers.
