Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Estimator – Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in a remote capacity. This critical role involves providing expert-level estimating support for nuclear construction projects, ensuring accurate cost assessments, and contributing to project success. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of construction estimating within the nuclear industry, with strong skills in project management, contract negotiation, and cost control. Duties
- Develop detailed construction estimates for nuclear projects utilizing industry-standard tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to produce accurate cost assessments.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine project scope and pricing strategies.
- Utilize negotiation skills to establish favorable terms with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Manage cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budget adherence.
- Prepare comprehensive bid packages, including pricing, schedules, and contract documentation.
- Contribute expertise on construction site practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements specific to nuclear facilities.
- Assist in contract negotiations and review contractual obligations related to project estimates.
- Support project management teams by providing insights on cost implications and risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in nuclear construction estimating.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on nuclear or heavy industrial projects.
- Strong proficiency with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating software tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, contracts management, and cost control within the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of construction site operations, safety standards, and project management principles related to nuclear facilities.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Prior experience in construction management or related roles is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
