MATRIX is in need of Nuclear Project Managers (Mid–Senior Level) to lead and deliver large, multi-disciplinary capital and license renewal projects across Monticello and Red Wing, MN.
Contract duration: 6 months - with possibility of extension
- Direct nuclear power experience ideally from operating utilities or nuclear EPCs.
- Familiarity with pressurized water reactors (PWRs) or boiling water reactors (BWRs), 10 CFR 50 Appendix B QA programs, INPO standards, and NRC regulatory frameworks.
- Ideal candidates have led capital modification, digital I&C modernization, major component replacement (steam generators, transformers, turbine upgrades), or subsequent license renewal (SLR) efforts.
- Capability in scope, schedule, cost control, risk management, change control, and stakeholder coordination / communication using structured PM methodologies (PMBOK, EVM, critical-path scheduling).
- Experience with Primavera P6 and enterprise systems like SAP, Maximo, or Passport for project planning, tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
- Experience with coordinating multi-discipline engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, Civil), Construction, Licensing, and Operations teams.
- Ability to execute projects under regulatory oversight, maintaining ALARA principles, nuclear safety culture, and procedural compliance.
- Engineering or equivalent technical degree or equivalent field work experience; PMP certification strongly preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus. Candidates with formal INPO or Xcel Energy fleet project management training are especially valuable.
- Mid- to senior-level PMs with 8–25+ years total experience, including at least 5 years in a nuclear facility.
