Position Summary
The Clinical Support Staff (MA/CNA/CMA) provides direct patient care and clinical support under the supervision of licensed nursing staff or providers. This role ensures efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and delivery of high-quality care in a compassionate and professional manner
Key Responsibilities
· Patient Care
· Greet, prepare, and room patients for visits.
· Obtain and document vital signs, weight, height, and medical history.
· Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
· Provide basic patient education and reinforce provider instructions.
· Perform specimen collection (blood, urine, swabs, etc.) and basic laboratory tests (if certified/trained).
· Support activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility assistance, hygiene, and comfort measures (more CNA-based).
· Clinical & Administrative Support
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
· Prepare, stock, and clean exam rooms and equipment according to infection control standards.
· Administer medications and injections as permitted by certification and state regulations.
· Perform clerical duties including scheduling, patient follow-up, and phone triage as directed.
· Team Collaboration
· Communicate effectively with providers, nurses, and other team members.
· Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings.
· Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
