Position Titte: Nurse-cum-Compounder
Reporting To: Factory Medical Officer / Occupational Health Centre In-Charge
Location: Occupational Health Centre (OHC) in Factory
Required Qualifications & SkiLfs
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. First-Aid & Emergency Care
o Provide First-aid support to injured or îll workers during the working period.
o Assist in medical emergencies under the supervision of the Factory Medical Officer.
o Mâi0tain first-aid supplies and ensure the first-aid box is always ready as per statutory requirements.
2. Dispensing & Compounding
o Prepare and dispense medicines (tablets, syrups, injections) as prescribed by the Factory Medical Officer.
o Maintain accurate records of medications stocked and dispensed.
o Ensure safe storage of medicines in proper conditions (temperature, security, etc.).
3. Patient Monitoring & Nursing Care
o Monitor workers ’vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure) during medical checkups or emergencies.
o Provide basic nursing care (wound dressing, injections, intravenous fluids, etc.).
a Assist the Factory I 1edical Officer during periodic medical examinations,
health surveys, and fitness assessments.
1. Health Records & Documentation
o Maintain and update health registers, patient treatment records, and medication logs.
o Help in recording medical data required for statutory health registers as per the Factories Rules.
a Prepare reports as required by the Factory Medical Officer.
2. Support to Occupational Health Centre (OHC)
o Keep the OHC clean, hygienic, and stocked with medical supplies and
equipment.
o Ensure that the OHC is operational during working hours, as required.
a Coordinate with other health centre stafi (nurse, FMOs, ward boys) to ensure smooth functioning of the health centre.
3. Safety & Hygiene Advice
o Assist in health-awareness activities, sUCh as occupational hygiene sessions.
o Help in monitoring the workplace for health hazards (such as minor cuts, chemica[exposure)and report to the Factory Medical Officer.
4. Compliance & Reporting
a Ensure that the hea[th centre operations comply with Tamil Nadu Factories Rules (Rule 62-O for OHC staffing).
o Report regularly to the Factory Medical Officer on the health centre status, first-aid cases, and stock ot medicines.
5. Training & Continuous Development
o Participate in training related to industrial health, first-aid, and safety
proeedures.
o Stay updated on best practices in occupational health nursing and compounding.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
