Nurse for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate HBOT Nurse to provide high-quality care and clinical support in a hyperbaric oxygen therapy setting. The HBOT Nurse plays a critical role in patient assessment, monitoring, and education, while ensuring safety and adherence to hyperbaric protocols. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in integrative or advanced medical therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments and health screenings to determine eligibility and readiness for hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment sessions to ensure safety and effectiveness.
  • Administer HBOT n accordance with established protocols.
  • Educate patients on the benefits, risks, and procedures of HBOT treatments.
  • Recognize and respond to signs of complications, such as oxygen toxicity or barotrauma, and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care, session notes, and treatment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining hyperbaric chambers and related equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control, and emergency procedures.

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license .
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Minimum [5] years of clinical nursing experience (preferably in critical care, wound care, or emergency nursing).
  • Strong understanding of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or willingness to receive specialized training.
  • Excellent assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations and respond to medical emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Hyperbaric Nursing (CHRN) from the Baromedical Nurses Association (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a wound care or hyperbaric medicine clinic.
  • Familiarity with multiplace and monoplace hyperbaric chambers.
  • Knowledge of wound care, decompression protocols, or adjunctive therapies.
