Compensation

  • Salary Range:
    • Minimum: $84,849
    • Midpoint: $106,059
    • Maximum: $127,274
      (Compensation heavily based on years of experience.)
  • Sign-On Bonus: Case-by-case basis
  • Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case basis
  • Recruitment Fee: 20%

Position Overview

A hospital in Dallas, Texas is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Critical Care (Medical ICU) to lead a high-acuity adult ICU.

This leader will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services delivered within the Medical ICU, ensuring alignment with hospital mission, vision, and strategic objectives. The Nurse Manager collaborates closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care delivery.

The role oversees a 16-bed Medical ICU with approximately 45 FTEs.

This 895+ bed tertiary care center is nationally recognized for advanced medical services and specialty care. The hospital serves patients from across the United States and internationally and offers comprehensive adult and pediatric services, including separate emergency departments and extensive specialty programs. It is part of a nationally recognized healthcare network known for innovation and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for the Medical ICU.
  • Plan, organize, delegate, and evaluate critical care services and staff performance.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary departments to ensure compliance with professional nursing standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain strong communication across departments and leadership teams.
  • Drive quality initiatives and regulatory compliance within the ICU.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent (within the last year) acute care leadership experience in Critical Care.
    • Preferably 2+ years of ICU leadership experience.
    • Charge Nurse experience alone will not be considered; higher-level leadership experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – Required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Current Texas RN license or Compact license
  • Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
  • Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)

Preferred:

  • CCRN and/or CNRN certification

  • Previous large-system hospital experience preferred
