Nurse Manager Unit Coordinator

We are looking for a Nurse Manager/Coordinator to take care of our amazing residents! The Nurse Manager/Coordinator in this position functions as both a team member and a team leader. They are responsible for providing personal nursing care to the residents, and leadership to the nursing staff to ensure that care standards are met, and that the highest degree of quality care is provided at all times.

Direction is given to Nursing Assistants, Charge Nurses, and other staff members.

Supervision is received from the Registered Nurse Supervisor, Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.

Responsibilities and duties may include:

  • Assist in orientation and training of new employees and participation in their ongoing training

  • Provide direction to and manage the nursing staff regarding resident care. Recommend disciplinary action, if necessary

  • Develop and communicate shift assignments for nursing staff and monitor job performance to assure that staff are performing their work assignments within acceptable nursing standards.

  • Communicate with nursing staff at shift change on resident conditions, needs and concerns.

  • Ensure that all nursing staff follow established departmental policies and procedures.

  • Provide input regarding GNA annual evaluations

  • Periodically meet on scheduled basis to assist identifying and correcting problem areas and suggest improvements.

  • Assess the needs of new residents and inform staff of new resident arrivals

  • Make daily resident visits to observe and evaluate resident’s physical and emotional status and revise care plan accordingly

  • Interact with medical staff, nursing staff, resident, family members, and other visitors regarding resident condition

  • Conduct/monitor medication passes and treatment to assure that resident care plan requirements are met

  • Ensure that all resident care is provided in a dignified and respectful manner

  • Ensure that all nursing staff is knowledgeable of resident rights and responsibilities

  • Provide input in the resident MDS and care planning process

  • Participate in quality assurance activities

  • Complete required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations

  • Preforms general nursing duties as needed in cases of emergency and/ or staffing alterations

    Qualifications and Requirements

  • REQUIRES ACTIVE MARYLAND OR COMPACT STATE NURSING LICENSE

  • RN preferred but will consider LPN with management experience

  • ANNUAL FLU VACCINE REQUIRED
