We're looking for an experienced Nurse Paralegal to join the Gallagher Sharp team! This full-time, non-exempt role is perfect for someone who brings at least five years of clinical hospital experience along with previous Nurse Paralegal and law firm experience.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to evaluate medical issues pertaining to the litigation process
- Prepare objective medical chronologies and medical summaries of pertinent medical records
- Create medical audits of treatment expenses to utilize in the evaluation of damages
- Perform the medical record retrieval process to obtain supplemental medical records following HIPAA Requirements
- Perform medical research on pertinent standards of care, causation, and damage issues
- Identify, retain and communicate with appropriate medical or medical-related experts
- Educate attorneys or others involved in the legal process on the medical facts, medical literature, and/or other healthcare related issues to the case or claim
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and multi-tasking skills
- Must have exceptional familiarity with the Internet, Outlook, and Word
- Must have the ability and desire to work as a team player
Qualifications
- Possess expertise in medical terminology, patient care, and nursing practices, including an active Registered Nurse (RN) license or equivalent healthcare experience
- Proficiency in legal research, document drafting, and familiarity with litigation procedures is required
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize medical and legal information effectively
- Proficient in utilizing legal and healthcare software systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with attorneys, clients, and medical professionals
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Prior nurse paralegal experience or relevant paralegal certification is highly desirable
Education
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (Required)
License/Certification:
- Registered Nurse (Required)

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
