THE NEUROLOGY INSTITUTE in Coral Springs and Ft. Lauderdale is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a strong background in Neurology to join our outpatient team. Flexibility to accommodate full time or part time.
This role is ideal for a clinician with experience managing the complexity of adult neurological care combined with the pace of an outpatient environment. You will play a key role in managing long-term patient outcomes, conducting specialized neurological assessments, and delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.
NP & PA Outpatient Responsibilities
- Neurological Assessments: Conduct comprehensive physical exams with a focus on cranial nerve assessment, motor/sensory function, and cognitive evaluation.
- Specialized Procedures: Perform or assist with specialized outpatient procedures, including infusions, therapeutic injections and skin biopsies, utilizing strict sterile technique.
- Chronic Care Management: Develop and manage long-term care plans for patients with neurological conditions (e.g., epilepsy, MS, Parkinson’s, or migraine).
- Advanced Documentation: Maintain precise records within EMR systems (eClinicalWorks) with a focus on detailed neurological progress notes.
- Telehealth & Triage: Lead remote consultations for follow-up care and triage patient inquiries.
Experience & Qualifications
- Clinical Background: Proven experience in an outpatient clinic or specialty practice. Experience in Neurology is required.
- Special Populations: Experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with dementia, or those with developmental disabilities.
- Procedure Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture and sterile processing; familiarity with infusions or Botox for migraines is a plus.
- Tech Savvy: Strong familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (eClinical Works) and digital health platforms.
- Research Interest: Prior involvement in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives related to brain health or chronic disease is an asset.
