Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Nurse Practitioner, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive patient care in an internal medicine office setting. <Responsibilities>
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine health status.
- Diagnose acute and chronic illnesses across various specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and behavioral health.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertions, catheterizations, and dermal filler injections while maintaining sterile technique.
- Manage patient care in diverse settings including outpatient clinics, hospitals, emergency rooms, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and telehealth platforms.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
<Skills>
- Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management.
- Proficiency in specialized procedures including botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, spinal taps, gastrostomy tube feeding, and sonography.
- Critical care expertise gained from ICU or Level I/II trauma center experience; familiarity with ventilator management and airway procedures.
- Strong background in diverse clinical areas such as gastroenterology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health, and post-acute care.
- Skilled in performing triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room settings; capable of managing acute pain and complex cases.
- Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate billing; understanding of Workers' Compensation law is a plus.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilators), memory care patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing or medical imaging; experience with phlebotomy and specimen processing is advantageous.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote patient consultations; excellent patient communication skills for health coaching and education.
