Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings. This position is based primarily in our Tennessee clinics (Lawrenceburg and Loretto), with occasional coverage opportunities in Florence for schedule flexibility and variety.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and develop appropriate care plans.
  • Manage acute pain conditions, perform suturing, and administer injections including IV infusions with precision and adherence to sterile techniques.
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner to document patient encounters accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide specialized treatments such as Botulinum toxin therapy, dermal fillers, esthetic laser procedures, and spinal taps to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex cases involving gastroenterology, infectious disease care, geriatrics, behavioral health, or hospice & palliative medicine.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations using sonography or laboratory testing; interpret ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for billing and documentation purposes.
  • Participate in telehealth consultations and case management activities to extend care beyond traditional settings.
  • Assist in discharge planning, utilization review, and post-acute care coordination for diverse populations including nursing home residents, assisted living communities, or patients with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Proven experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, ICU or trauma center environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers.
  • Strong background in medical-surgical nursing, internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics or neonatal intensive care units (NICU).
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner or similar platforms; familiarity with CPT coding for procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with IV insertion, catheterization, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques and specimen collection/processing.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; familiarity with workers’ compensation law is a plus.
  • Excellent patient care skills complemented by strong communication abilities; capable of triage assessment and health coaching.
  • Critical care experience including ICU or emergency room work is highly desirable; additional expertise in pain management or occupational health is advantageous.
