Nurse Practitioner

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages, incorporating knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and disease processes across specialties like geriatrics, pediatrics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.
  • Administer medications and injections, perform suturing, IV infusions, catheterizations, and sterile procedures while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Manage acute pain cases, perform diagnostic evaluations including sonography or spinal taps when necessary, and coordinate diagnostic imaging or laboratory specimen collection/processing.
  • Provide telehealth consultations utilizing telehealth platforms to extend care access remotely while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Engage in case management activities such as discharge planning, utilization review, and working with patients with complex needs including hospice & palliative medicine or memory care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in high-acuity environments like Level I Trauma Centers or ICU settings to ensure optimal patient outcomes through critical care expertise.

Qualifications

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in advanced practice nursing.
  • Demonstrated experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency rooms, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), or outpatient clinics.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation and patient records management.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for billing and documentation purposes.
  • Skilled in performing procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, catheter care, tube feeding management, and airway management techniques.
  • Experience working with specialized populations including children (pediatrics), seniors (geriatrics), patients with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
  • Familiarity with clinical research protocols or participation in teaching hospital environments is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, health coaching sessions, patient education on medication administration or nutrition plans. Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
