Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans across various specialties such as primary care, urgent care, geriatrics, pediatrics, or specialty clinics like gastroenterology or dermatology.
  • Administer medications and injections, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments, following established protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as sonography, spinal taps, catheterizations, and sterile processing techniques.
  • Manage patient documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate medical records.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide health coaching and education tailored to individual needs, including memory care or hospice & palliative medicine support.

Requirements

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in relevant specialties.
  • Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; hospital medicine or emergency medicine experience is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), seniors in assisted living or memory care facilities, and individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to perform procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, tube feeding management, and sterile technique.
