Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories across various specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and emergency medicine.
- Diagnose illnesses and injuries utilizing clinical judgment and diagnostic tools; develop and implement tailored treatment plans aligned with best practices.
- Administer medications, including injections, IV infusions, botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, and other advanced procedures with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, gastrostomy tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records management.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as hospitals (including Level I & II trauma centers), outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice & palliative care units, and telehealth platforms to ensure continuity of care.
- Engage in patient education and health coaching to promote wellness strategies tailored to individual needs; participate in clinical research initiatives to advance healthcare practices.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Demonstrated experience in critical care environments such as ICU or trauma centers; hospital medicine or emergency room experience preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner or similar platforms; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding for accurate documentation.
- Hands-on experience with procedures like suturing, IV insertion/infusion, catheterization, phlebotomy, venipuncture and sterile technique.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), infection control protocols and diagnostic evaluation methods.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator care), geriatrics (memory care), individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; familiarity with hospice & palliative medicine is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced settings such as urgent care clinics or outpatient facilities; excellent patient assessment skills coupled with compassionate communication.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA regulations; experience managing medical documentation accurately within EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth is highly desirable.
