Nurse Practitioner

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess clinical expertise across various specialties, including acute and chronic care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and behavioral health. This role involves providing comprehensive patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering high-quality care in diverse settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks is essential. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with internal medicine physician to ensure optimal patient outcomes while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments across a wide age range.
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions such as pain management, infectious diseases, behavioral health issues, and post-acute care needs.
  • Perform procedures including phlebotomy, vaccinations, and administering ekgs.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as sonography and medical imaging for evaluation purposes.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in compliance with state regulations.
  • Document all patient encounters accurately using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; ensure compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Provide telehealth consultations utilizing telehealth platforms; participate in case management and discharge planning processes.
  • Engage in clinical research activities or quality improvement initiatives if applicable.
  • Collaborate with specialists in areas such as gastroenterology, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and occupational health.
  • Educate patients on health coaching topics including nutrition, family planning, memory care, Alzheimer’s/dementia care, and disease prevention strategies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD coding (including ICD-9/10), anesthesia documentation, and utilization review standards.

Qualifications

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in applicable state(s).
  • Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as hospitals (Level I & II trauma centers), emergency rooms (ER), ICU/PICU/Neonatal ventilator management, outpatient clinics, or home care environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks; familiarity with medical documentation standards.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (psychopharmacology included), infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterile processing procedures.
  • Experience performing advanced procedures such as suturing, venipuncture/phlebotomy/IV insertion/injection administration; ventilator management; catheter care; gastrostomy tube feeding; spinal taps; airway management; cardiac catheterization when applicable.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams across specialties like geriatrics (memory/dementia care), pediatrics (toddler/neonatal), behavioral health, hospice & palliative medicine.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient education and health coaching.
  • Must pass background checks and drug screening prior to employment. Pay: From $120,000.00 per year
