Overview
A leading healthcare organization in Foster City is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our on-site Primary Care Clinic, which also provides Occupational Health services. This is an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity offering a collaborative, patient-centered environment that supports both employee health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive physical exams and preventive health assessments per clinical guidelines

Perform minor procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management

Develop and implement patient care plans while documenting progress and ensuring continuity of care

Educate patients on treatment plans, disease prevention, and health maintenance

Order and interpret diagnostic tests to evaluate clinical conditions and guide treatment

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated, high-quality care

Prescribe or recommend medications, therapies, and other treatments in accordance with regulations

Refer patients to specialists or primary physicians when necessary

Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic health records (EPIC experience preferred)

Educate and mentor nursing staff on clinical best practices and care standards

Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
-
Current Nurse Practitioner license/certification to practice in the state of California

State Prescriptive Authority

Current national certification (ANCC or AANP required)

Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA, ARC, or equivalent required)
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EPIC electronic medical records

Background in Occupational Health and Workers’ Compensation case management

Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary care team
