Position: Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care & Occupational Health

Location: Foster City, CA

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire


Overview

A leading healthcare organization in Foster City is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our on-site Primary Care Clinic, which also provides Occupational Health services. This is an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity offering a collaborative, patient-centered environment that supports both employee health and wellness.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical exams and preventive health assessments per clinical guidelines
  • Perform minor procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management
  • Develop and implement patient care plans while documenting progress and ensuring continuity of care
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, disease prevention, and health maintenance
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to evaluate clinical conditions and guide treatment
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated, high-quality care
  • Prescribe or recommend medications, therapies, and other treatments in accordance with regulations
  • Refer patients to specialists or primary physicians when necessary
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic health records (EPIC experience preferred)
  • Educate and mentor nursing staff on clinical best practices and care standards
  • Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license/certification to practice in the state of California
  • State Prescriptive Authority
  • Current national certification (ANCC or AANP required)
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA, ARC, or equivalent required)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
  • Background in Occupational Health and Workers’ Compensation case management
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary care team
