We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic outpatient clinic team in a full-time capacity. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews to determine appropriate care plans.
- Manage a broad spectrum of clinical conditions utilizing advanced skills in medical documentation, diagnosis coding (ICD-10, CPT), and treatment protocols.
- Administer medications and injections, including immunizations and dermal fillers, following sterile technique and safety guidelines.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, venipuncture, catheterization, spinal taps, and IV insertions with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation, order entry, and patient data management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients in settings like assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or outpatient clinics.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care standards and operational efficiency.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support complex cases involving critical care scenarios such as ICU or Level I trauma center experiences; manage acute pain and infectious disease cases effectively.
- Educate patients on health promotion strategies, medication adherence, nutrition, and disease prevention tailored to diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice in the relevant state or region.
- Proven experience in medical office settings with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Athenahealth.
- Strong clinical skills encompassing physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation, medication administration (including injections), and specimen collection/processing.
- Experience working with a variety of specialties such as gastroenterology, geriatrics, behavioral health, emergency medicine, or hospice & palliative care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), utilization review, and insurance documentation standards.
- Demonstrated ability to perform procedures such as suturing, spinal taps, dermal fillers, tube feeding management, and ventilator support when applicable.
- Critical care experience including ICU or Level II trauma center exposure is preferred; familiarity with acute pain management and infection control protocols is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education across age groups including children (working with children/toddler care) and older adults (memory/dementia care).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or specialized procedural training are advantageous. Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
