Nurse Practitioner – Medical Cannabis Evaluations

Overview

KY Med Cards is seeking licensed Nurse Practitioners to join our team and assist patients in the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program.

This is a flexible, low-stress role ideal for providers looking to earn supplemental income now, with the opportunity to grow into a consistent telehealth position as patient demand increases.

Compensation

• $25 per completed patient visit
• Typical pace: 4–6 patients per hour once fully booked
• Equivalent to $100–$150+ per hour at full capacity
• 1099 Independent Contractor role

Note: Patient volume is growing as our clinic expands, and schedules will fill over time.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct brief patient evaluations (typically ~10 minutes per visit)
• Determine eligibility for the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program
• Issue certifications for qualifying patients
• Complete basic documentation in our EMR system

Schedule & Work Environment

• Flexible scheduling — choose your availability
• Mix of in-person and telehealth visits (primarily in-person)
• Preferred availability: 2–3 shifts per week (4-hour shifts)
• Patient volume will increase as the clinic continues to grow

Requirements

• Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Kentucky
• DEA and Controlled Substance License
• Approval from the Kentucky Board of Nursing to perform medical cannabis evaluations
• Comfortable using EMR systems (training provided)
