JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Practitioner serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing community-based psychiatric assessment and treatment services to adults and/or children, including those in crisis including in the clinic, home, or community setting. Responsible for providing integrated care, psychiatric care and medication evaluation and management to a range of individuals having Serious Mental Illness (SMI), developmental disability (DD), and/or Substance Use Disorder (SUD) under the supervision of consulting psychiatrist(s) to include 24-hour on-call coverage. The position also provides assessment, diagnosis, disease management, and prescribing of medications to adults and/or children. The position entails working in a Mobile Unit in multiple locations across the Mount Rogers catchment area. There must be a willingness to travel, make house calls, cover other programs agency-wide especially the Crisis Centers and Crisis Receiving Center. Candidate must have willingness to build a new program and have flexibility to evolve as program needs change.

Minimum Requirements
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Licensure in Virginia as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner preferred or Family Nurse Practitioner with a minimum of two years' experience working with persons who have SMI, DD, and/or SUD preferred.
Strong clinical skills and experience providing treatment to individuals with SMI, ID, and/or SUD preferred.
Valid Driver's License and a safe driving record required.
