Job Summary

Hallie’s Medical Staffing is actively seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a detention center assignment in Bushnell, FL. This is a day shift, weekday-friendly schedule with competitive pay.

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in corrections healthcare to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive medical services within correctional facilities, ensuring the health and well-being of incarcerated individuals. Responsibilities

• Perform physical exams, assessments, and medical evaluations
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
• Prescribe medications and manage care plans
• Respond to urgent medical needs within the facility
• Document patient care accurately in the EHR
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams
• Follow all facility safety and security protocols
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient records at all times.
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of primary care principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and medical software.
• At least two (2) years’ experience working in a Correctional or lock-down facility.

Requirements

• Active Florida Nurse Practitioner license (Required)
• Board Certified (FNP, AGNP, or related)
• Corrections or Acute Care experience (Required)
• BLS/CPR Certification (ACLS preferred)
• Strong clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently in a secure environment
• Critical care experience in settings such as ICU or emergency room environments is advantageous.
• Familiarity with diverse medical specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, infectious disease care, or hospice & palliative medicine enhances your versatility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
