Richard Alexan MD, Inc. is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a strong interest in neurology to support growing patient demand in our outpatient setting.

Dr. Alexan has served the Bakersfield community since 2004 and is known for his deep medical knowledge, excellent rapport with patients, and collaborative approach with local providers. You'll be mentored directly by Dr. Alexan and receive on-the-job training in the diagnosis and management of neurological disorders — no prior neurology experience required but is preferred.

What You’ll Do

- Conduct comprehensive history & physical exams

- Order, interpret, and explain diagnostic tests (MRI, CT, EMG, labs)

- Assist in diagnosing and treating neurological conditions such as migraine, neuropathy, epilepsy, etc.

- Administer and manage procedures including:
- Botulinum toxin injections for migraine
- Peripheral nerve blocks
- Neurological infusion therapies

- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and prevention

- Document visits and follow-up accurately in EHR

- Participate in case discussions and continued learning

What We’re Looking For

- Licensed NP / PA in California (or ability to obtain)

- DEA certification

- Clinical experience in primary care with an inquisitive mind to explore differential diagnosis with knowledge-based decision making ability is key.

- A curious, evidence-based mindset and eagerness to learn neurology

- Excellent communication skills and bedside manner

- Positive, adaptable, and team-oriented
