Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric

Welcome to Charter Health! Our medical practice continues to grow in the Boston metro area. In 2025 we successfully launched our Behavioral Health service and are experiencing high demand to expand the service. We seek a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our behavioral health service in the North Shore Boston area. The position offers a mix of in-person and telehealth visits for our adult patients in primary care and long-term facilities.

Charter Health is a member of Mass General Brigham Community Physicians. We use the electronic medical record EPIC for documentation, prescribing, and coordinating care with other providers in in the health system.

Our team of physicians, nurse practitioners and licensed social workers work together to provide medical and behavioral health services. The post-acute team manages the medical and psychiatric care of short-term rehabilitation and long-term care residents in skilled nursing facilities (SNF).

Responsibilities

  • Review psychiatric and medical histories, hospital discharge summaries and other documents in order to develop an effective plan of care.
  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop, implement and monitor treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with clinical social workers providing psychotherapy.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays, etc.) and follow up results in a timely manner with our patients.
  • Educate patients and families about their health conditions and medications.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staffs, physicians, and other professionals who are working with us to care for our patients.

Experience and Other Characteristics

  • 2 years of clinical experience in adult psychiatry is required.
  • A commitment to provide excellent care and service to patients.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to support our team based culture.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
