Nurse Practitioner , Rheumatology NP

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP/APRN) to join our healthcare team, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and identify medical issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication administration, injections, suturing, and other procedures such as dermal fillers or botulinum toxin treatments.
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties including emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and internal medicine.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of medical records, billing codes (CPT, ICD-10), and treatment notes.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing, sonography, medical imaging, or specimen collection/processing techniques.
  • Provide telehealth consultations to extend care access and support patients remotely.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation methods.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with Athenahealth is a plus.
  • Skilled in performing procedures like IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, tube feeding management, ventilator care, and sterile processing techniques.
  • Expertise in managing complex cases involving acute pain management, infection control, trauma (Level I & II trauma center experience), ICU or hospital medicine experience.
  • Ability to perform triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room environments; experience with occupational health or workers' compensation law is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes; understanding of ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10).
  • Experience with medical imaging techniques such as sonography; familiarity with laboratory experience enhances clinical evaluation skills.
  • Capable of providing specialized care including dermatology procedures like dermal fillers or esthetic laser treatments; expertise in hospice & palliative medicine is valued.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and health coaching; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
