We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in Orthopedics to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive orthopedic care, assist in surgical procedures, and collaborate closely with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Your expertise will help patients recover from musculoskeletal injuries, manage chronic conditions, and improve their overall mobility and quality of life. Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and medical history reviews focused on musculoskeletal issues.
  • Assist in orthopedic surgeries, including preoperative preparations and postoperative care, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and aseptic procedures.
  • Manage acute pain cases through appropriate medication administration, IV infusions, and other advanced pain control methods.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations using sonography or other imaging modalities to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Provide patient education on injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, medication use, and post-discharge care plans.

Qualifications

  • Valid certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current state licensure in good standing.
  • Proven experience in orthopedics or related fields such as emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or sports medicine.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to musculoskeletal health.
  • Experience with procedures including suturing, catheterization, venipuncture, and sterile processing techniques.
  • Ability to perform clinical assessments involving vital signs, physical examinations, and patient history collection.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding for accurate billing and documentation purposes.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatric (pediatrics), geriatric (geriatrics), assisted living residents, or individuals with disabilities.
  • Additional skills such as telehealth experience, acute care management, trauma center exposure (Level I/II Trauma Center), or hospital/inpatient care are highly valued. Pay: $95,625.08 - $115,161.38 per year
