Nurse (RN or LPN)

We are looking for one Full-Time exceptional nurse who is interested in pediatric primary care. We pride ourselves on being a fantastic place to work, with a family-like atmosphere among staff. Spring Valley Pediatrics has been around for more than 90 years. We emphasize the importance of individualized, personalized care and we are committed to provide the best possible care for children, adolescents, and young adults. We aim for continuity, always trying to have each patient see their “own” doctor and nurse at each visit. By always seeing the same doctor and nurse, the children and their parents become quite comfortable and form long-term relationships with their care providers. We love getting to know our patients and their families.

We are proud to have an in-office laboratory so that we may expedite and individualize treatment plans.

We are committed to facilitating excellent communication between our patients and their pediatrician and nurse. One of our physicians is available 24/7 and we are open 365 days/year.

Nursing responsibilities:

  • handle telephone inquiries and triage
  • take vital signs and recognized when out of normal range
  • prepare patient for physician to assess
  • administer injections, including medication and vaccines
  • administer EKG’s
  • monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
  • communicate with collaborating physicians and specialists regarding patient care
  • educate patients about health maintenance and disease prevention
  • facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and facilities
  • maintain accurate patient medical records
  • call in and electronically prescribe medication as ordered by physician
  • provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family
  • track patient flow and keep physician running on time
  • schedule sick visits
  • keep exam rooms stocked and reorder supplies as needed
  • filing of patient charts

Qualifications:

  • valid RN/LPN license
  • previous pediatric experience is a plus
  • familiarity with medical software and equipment
  • excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and staff
  • strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • ability to thrive in fast-paced environment and contribute ideas

Hours:

· Monday – Friday patient care hours are 9am to 5pm, staff is expected to arrive by 8:40am and can often leave by 5:15pm if their daily work is done.

· Saturday, Sunday, and holidays we are open for sick visits. Patient care starts at 9:00am

*Once our new nurse has completed their training, they will be added into the weekend work rotation
