Duties

- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining the confidentiality and security of all medical records and patient information.
- Utilize CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems to accurately document diagnoses and procedures for billing and insurance purposes.
- Collaborate with medical office staff to update and manage medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness in documentation.
- Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits, coverage limitations, and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
- Maintain detailed logs of verification activities, authorization requests, and responses for audit purposes.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of managed care policies, insurance verification processes, and prior authorization procedures.
- Proficiency in medical office operations including appointment scheduling, medical records management, and billing support.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
- Experience with CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems, and medical terminology for accurate documentation.
