Position Overview:

The Calvary Episcopal Church Nursery is seeking a compassionate and responsible Nursery Caregiver to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 2 weeks-4 years old during church events and services. The Nursery Caregiver will play a vital role in supporting families and creating a welcoming space for young children to grow spiritually and socially.

Responsibilities:

• Childcare:
• Supervise and care for children aged 2 weeks-4 years old during church events and services.
• Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.
• Interactive Play:
• Engage children in age-appropriate, educational, and recreational activities that promote growth and development.
• Encourage positive social interactions among children.
• Basic Needs:
• Attend to children's basic needs, including feeding, diaper changing, and bathroom assistance.
• Maintain a clean and organized nursery environment.
• Communication:
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on their child's well-being and any notable incidents.
• Be attentive and responsive to the needs and concerns of parents and children.
• Safety and Emergency Procedures:
• Be familiar with emergency procedures and ensure the safety of all children in your care.
• Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate church authorities.
• Team Collaboration:
• Collaborate with other nursery caregivers and church staff to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a childcare or nursery setting.
• Complete required and “Safe Church, Safe Communities” training for adults working with children.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• A warm and caring personality, with a genuine love for children.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with parents, staff, and volunteers.
• A commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for children.

Schedule:

This position is part-time and typically involves working during Sunday church services (8;30 AM -12:30 PM) and other special events as needed. Flexibility may be required to accommodate church events outside of regular service times.
