Nursery Nurse - Afternoons 12pm-5pm

Job Overview: Nursery Nurse Part time (Afternoons 12pm-5pm)

We are seeking a part time dedicated and passionate Nursery Nurse to join our Ofsted Outstanding and NDNA award‑winning Nursery, where we are committed to delivering exceptional early years education.

Our nursery offers children an outstanding forest class environment, as well as beach and farm classes, providing rich, hands‑on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and confidence. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This role involves supporting children's development through engaging activities, ensuring their well-being, and working closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality early childhood education.

The ideal applicant will have experience in nursery settings and possess excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and care for children in a nursery environment, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
  • Plan activities to support children's individual interests and development needs
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and daily routines
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold nursery policies
  • Support the children with daily routines, including meal times and nap times
  • Support the development of children’s early learning skills through creative play and educational activities
  • Uphold Safeguarding and health and safety standards in accordance with regulatory requirements

Experience

  • Previous experience working within a nursery or childcare setting
  • Knowledge of the EYFS and early childhood education principles and child development stages
  • Experience working directly with children of various ages
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
