Duties
- Develop and implement a B2B sales strategy for landscapers and developers
- Actively "hunt" and secure new wholesale accounts
- Manage weekly Availability Lists and distribution to clients
- Coordinate with production to align inventory with sales forecasts
- Establish trade pricing tiers and discount structures
- Secure contract growing agreements for long-term projects
- Conduct site visits and product demos for commercial prospect
- Manage daily nursery production activities, including planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and pest control to ensure healthy plant growth.
- Oversee the use of irrigation systems, greenhouses, hand tools, and mechanical equipment to optimize plant care and operational efficiency.
- Lead sales by providing expert advice on plant selection, landscape plants, lawn care products, and gardening solutions to meet customer needs.
- Coordinate with suppliers for procurement of plants, soil amendments, fertilizers, and other nursery supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, plant identification data, growth progress, and sales transactions.
- Conduct regular inspections of the nursery grounds to ensure safety standards are met and outdoor work environments are well-maintained.
- Train staff on horticultural best practices, proper tool usage, heavy lifting techniques, and safety procedures for outdoor work.
Skills
- Proven sales experience (B2B/Wholesale preferred)
- Strong horticultural and plant knowledge
- Professional networking and relationship building
- Proficiency in CRM and inventory software
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally
- Growing experience with knowledge of horticulture principles and plant identification.
- Basic math skills for measurements, inventory calculations, and record keeping.
