Nursery Worker

Job Overview

Silsbee Methodist Church is looking for a nursery worker who is available Sunday mornings. The right person is someone 18 or older with a clean background check and CPR certification who loves children under the age of 5. Contact the office at 409-385-5568 for an application.

Duties

• Supervise and care for children in a safe, clean, and welcoming nursery setting, ensuring their well-being at all times
• Monitor children’s behavior and apply effective behavior management strategies to encourage positive social interactions
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children’s needs, milestones, and daily experiences
• Assist with classroom management by organizing materials, setting up activity areas, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times

Skills

• Proven experience working with young children.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in childcare
• Certification in first aid and CPR to ensure immediate response to emergencies
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable
• Strong classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families
• Compassionate caregiving approach with patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with children

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per day
