Industry & Sector: Healthcare services — clinical support and patient-care operations within hospital and long-term care settings in the United Arab Emirates. Position: Patient Care Assistant (Nursing Assistant) — On-site, UAE

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate bedside care: assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal hygiene, feeding, and toileting while preserving dignity and comfort.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, observe clinical changes, and promptly report concerns to registered nurses or charge nurse.
  • Support safe patient mobility: perform safe transfers, use assistive devices, and apply fall-prevention measures under nurse guidance.
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as wound dressing assistance, specimen collection support, and catheter/bedpan care following protocols.
  • Maintain infection-control standards: perform proper hand hygiene, PPE use, and environmental cleaning to reduce cross-contamination risks.
  • Document care accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) and follow unit-specific care plans and escalation procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
  • Proven clinical experience providing bedside care in hospital, clinic, or long-term care settings.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation and basic clinical charting.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control practices and safe patient-handling techniques.
  • Fluent in English; conversational Arabic is an advantage for patient communication.

Preferred

  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant / Patient Care Assistant or equivalent credential.
  • Experience with hospital EMR platforms (e.g., Cerner, Epic, or similar).
  • Familiarity with UAE healthcare protocols and facility accreditation standards.
