Location: Aurora, CO
Job Type: Full -Time | Hybrid (Remote Work Not Offered)

Schedule: Monday – Friday (8:00AM – 5:00PM)

Pay: $95,000/annually

Casa Loma College is seeking a Nursing Clinical Coordinator who will be responsible for developing, conducting, and coordinating the clinical education portion of the Nursing curriculum. Primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining current clinical affiliation agreements, organizing clinical rotations, and ensuring the delivery of quality clinical experiences.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Nursing Clinical Coordinator is a liaison between the Nursing programs and affiliated clinical education sites and is responsible for the establishment and retention of positive relationships with healthcare organizations and other program partners within the community. This position reports to the Nursing Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate all clinical rotations for the Nursing program at various healthcare facilities throughout the campus’ community.
  • Participate in community activities to improve community relations and establish new clinical partnerships.
  • Conduct preliminary evaluation of clinical sites to determine suitability for student experience.
  • Establish sufficient clinical affiliation and content-specific experiences to meet programmatic needs.
  • Develop and maintain currency of all affiliation agreements with external clinical agencies.
  • Coordinate, track, and maintain all clinical documentation required by the clinical affiliate and the Nursing program in compliance with all federal, state, accrediting agency, and Board of Nursing regulations.
  • Facilitate clinical orientation activities for instructors and students before each clinical rotation.
  • Attend agency-based clinical orientations as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Director to address clinical faculty, clinical site, and student issues.
  • Facilitate clinical instructor orientation and ongoing faculty development related to clinical experiences.
  • Support faculty implementation of college and department policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and instructional support in the use of academic resources for faculty in clinical settings.
  • Provide training and support to qualified clinical preceptors, as needed.
  • Facilitate evaluation activities for clinical experiences including students, faculty, site, and resource evaluations.
  • Conduct monthly site visits to current clinical sites.
  • Manage the educational process of students during clinical experiences.
  • Assume a part-time teaching assignment as needed to meet program needs.
  • Maintain expectations and responsibilities of a full-time nursing instructor.
  • Adhere to all college policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 3 (three) years of professional nursing experience in a nursing education setting

Required Skills

  • Must possess a Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation
  • Hold a current, valid, unencumbered nursing license with privileges to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Colorado.
  • Experience demonstrating teaching abilities within assigned subject area and educational setting (classroom, online, laboratory, clinical) and ability to utilize innovative teaching methods incorporating technology, including online resources.

Preferred Skills

  • Nursing experience in mental health care.
  • Experience with online learning platforms and simulation-based instruction.
  • Familiarity with ACEN standards and competency-based education.
