Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit (17), and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by (3) percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.

Under the direction of the Headquarters Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) of the Whole Person Care Program (WPCP) or designee, the Nursing Consultant, Program Review (NCPR) is responsible for supporting the development and statewide deployment of the WPCP, Complete Care Model (CCM), Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment, Hepatitis C Treatment (HCV), and other clinical initiatives at California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS). The NCPR provides program consultation regarding nursing practices, procedures, and standards. This position has the possibility of travel up to 50% of the time with limited notice.

This position is located in the Nursing Services Branch, which provides essential leadership and institutional support advocating positive change to promote quality in the provision of safe, efficient, and competent nursing care in all service line delivery areas, including inpatient, outpatient, specialty care, and TTA/R&R/Reception Center. Additionally, the headquarters Chief Nurse Executives provide statewide program guidance to nursing service lines at all 35 institutions and support nursing practice through the assessment of processes, policies and procedures, protocols, clinical decision support tools, nursing curriculum and competencies, and the deployment of nursing resources to assist and support the goal of continuous quality improvement.

About the location – Headquarters, Elk Grove.

Located less than 30 minutes from Sacramento and Lodi, the progressive city of Elk Grove offers a great mix of newly developed housing, business projects, and recreational opportunities. You will enjoy working at our campus-style office complex with free parking, and perhaps even call Elk Grove home.

Up to 80% travel is required to institution.

The position(s) is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

The position(s) require(s) a(n) Registered Nurse in California License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.
