Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Nursing School Application & Essay Specialist to support pre-nursing students through the competitive admissions process. This role focuses on guiding applicants through the RN or RN/BSN and other accredited nursing programs.

Specifically, our team helps students manage the application process and develop compelling personal statements.

The ideal candidate brings direct experience in nonprofit or accredited college nursing school admissions leadership or substantial past experience advising pre-nursing students through successful admissions cycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one advising to pre-nursing students applying to accredited nursing programs
• Guide students through nursing school admissions requirements, timelines, and strategic positioning
• Coach students in developing strong personal statements, goal statements, and supplemental essays
• Provide detailed editing and feedback on application essays
• Advise on résumé development and extracurricular positioning
• Conduct mock interviews (if required by programs)
• Offer strategic insight into program selection and admissions competitiveness
• Stay current on nursing school admissions trends and requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile (Tier 1 – Preferred)

• Former Associate Director of Admissions or Director of Admissions at an accredited nursing program
• Experience reviewing and evaluating nursing school applications
• Deep familiarity with holistic admissions processes
• Demonstrated understanding of what distinguishes successful nursing candidates
• Strong writing and coaching background

Secondary Ideal Candidate Profile (Tier 2)

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior experience coaching or advising students on nursing school admissions
• Strong understanding of nursing program prerequisites and applicant evaluation

• Familiarity with centralized application systems (e.g., NursingCAS)
• Prior admissions committee participation
• Experience working with diverse student populations

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
