Join our dynamic healthcare team as an OB Hospitalist, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional obstetric and maternal-fetal care within a busy hospital setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver comprehensive inpatient obstetric services, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and enhance patient outcomes. As an OB Hospitalist, you will be at the forefront of maternal health, ensuring safe deliveries, managing complex cases, and supporting families during critical moments. Your expertise will directly impact the health and well-being of mothers and newborns while fostering a positive, energetic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 inpatient obstetric care, including labor management, delivery, postpartum care, and emergency interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with obstetricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to coordinate patient care plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of pregnant patients, including vital signs, fetal monitoring, and medical history reviews.
  • Manage high-risk pregnancies by utilizing advanced clinical skills in maternal-fetal medicine and perioperative care.
  • Assist with emergency procedures such as cesarean sections, labor dystocia management, and neonatal resuscitation when necessary.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or other EMR platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and quality standards to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology practices with experience in inpatient hospital settings.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems such as Epic or similar electronic medical records platforms.
  • Strong understanding of medical imaging techniques relevant to maternal-fetal assessments.
  • Experience managing high-acuity cases involving critical care, trauma medicine, or neonatal intensive care units (NICU).
  • Skilled in performing procedures including suturing, airway management, and basic life support (BLS).
  • Familiarity with specialized areas such as maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, and pediatric critical & intensive care.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to family-centered care; ability to communicate complex medical information clearly.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding for documentation accuracy; understanding of hospital discharge planning processes. Join us in delivering outstanding obstetric care that makes a difference!
