An OB/GYN Nurse provides specialized care for women's reproductive health, focusing on pregnancy (prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum) and gynecological issues, educating patients, monitoring vitals, assisting physicians with exams/procedures, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team for holistic patient well-being in various settings like clinics or hospitals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maternal Care: Care for expectant mothers from pregnancy to postpartum, including monitoring mother and baby's health (vitals, fetal heart rate), assisting in delivery, providing pain relief, and helping with breastfeeding/newborn care.
  • Gynecological Care: Support patients with general women's health, including routine exams, contraception counseling, fertility guidance, and screenings.
  • Patient Education: Inform patients and families about prenatal care, childbirth, reproductive health, and newborn care.
  • Clinical Duties: Administer medications/fluids, manage sterile environments, assist with procedures (like childbirth or surgery), and accurately document all care.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with OB/GYNs, midwives, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care.
