While we operate independently, we work collaboratively with prominent OB/GYN practices in the region such as AllSafe Medical Group to support seamless transitions of care and continuity. As we continue to expand our partnerships with leading hospitals, we are excited to welcome a dedicated OB/ED Allied Health Professional to join our team at our high-volume hospital site in Los Angeles. This unique opportunity provides hands-on inpatient and emergency obstetric care.


Position Overview:

This role provides frontline care for pregnant patients presenting with urgent and emergent concerns, ensuring timely triage, stabilization, and collaborative management with our attending OB/GYN physicians. As an APP in the OB-ED, you will play a critical role in enhancing patient safety, satisfaction, and efficiency by managing acute presentations, assisting with deliveries and procedures, and coordinating transitions of care. .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of OB/GYN patients presenting to the OB-ED
  • Conduct focused histories, physical examinations, and bedside diagnostics
  • Initiate and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, fetal monitoring, etc.)
  • Manage urgent presentations such as:
    • Preterm labor
    • Preeclampsia/gestational hypertension
    • Vaginal bleeding in pregnancy
    • Rupture of membranes
    • Non-reassuring fetal heart tracings
    • Postpartum complications
  • Assist in vaginal deliveries and provide support in obstetric emergencies (e.g., shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, hypertensive crisis)
  • Perform procedures as credentialed (e.g., repair of simple lacerations, I&D, IV access, urinary catheterization, limited bedside ultrasound, etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with OB/GYN attending physicians, residents, and nursing staff in care planning
  • Provide patient education and discharge planning
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement, simulation training, and departmental safety initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program
  • Current California PA or NP license in good standing
  • Board Certified (NCCPA for PAs; AANP/ANCC for NPs)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (required)
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in OB/GYN, Women s Health, Emergency Medicine, or Labor & Delivery
  • Strong clinical judgment, ability to function in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
