Employment Type: Part-Time Employee
About Us
We are seeking an Occupational Health Physician to serve as a remote consulting medical director for our onsite medical staff. This is a fully remote position — no travel required — with nationwide case coverage. The role includes both salaried part-time employment and telemedicine consultations (additional compensation provided on a per-case basis).
Responsibilities
- Provide remote consulting oversight for workplace injury and illness cases escalated by onsite EMT-P, RN, or LVN/LPN staff.
- Conduct case reviews and document recommendations for treatment, management, and follow-up.
- Issue medical opinions and letters of medical determination when reviewing cases, including when your professional opinion differs from an external clinic or urgent care provider.
- Guide OSHA recordkeeping decisions by distinguishing between first aid vs. medical treatment cases.
- Support return-to-work and fit-for-duty decisions, including recommendations for modified or full-duty status.
- Deliver telemedicine consultations directly with employees when required (e.g., complex cases, injuries needing real-time MD evaluation).
- Offer ongoing consultation to improve site injury management practices and compliance.
- Maintain availability during agreed-upon hours for timely consultation (with flexibility for after-hours escalation if required).
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), licensed in the U.S. (multi-state licensure strongly preferred).
- Board Certification in Occupational & Environmental Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine with occupational health experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant clinical practice in occupational health, urgent care, or industrial settings.
- Strong understanding of OSHA recordkeeping requirements and workplace safety standards.
- Ability to provide clear, concise, and defensible written medical opinions.
- Experience collaborating with EMT-P, RN, and LVN/LPN staff in high-risk or industrial environments (construction preferred).
- Prior telemedicine experience strongly preferred.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $100,000/year (part-time employee).
- Additional per-case compensation for telemedicine consultations with employees (rate negotiable based on volume and complexity).
- Premium rates available for after-hours or urgent consultations.
