Position: Occupational Medicine Physician

GCI is seeking to hire a board-certified physician for full-time employment to support a contract in the Hill AFB Occupational Medicine Clinic. This position is 100% on-site work. Candidates must be able to obtain a public trust clearance in order to work in a medical facility on a military base.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited school, a master’s degree in public or occupational health (MPH/MOH), and complete a residency in Occupational Medicine.

Certification: BLS and Certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Occupational Medicine or Family Practice Medicine.

License: Licensure in any US Jurisdiction as a Physician, Federal DEA registration & NPI registration

Experience: A minimum of 12 months experience in occupational medicine and completion of residency or fellowship in occupational medicine acceptable to the Air Force Surgeon General, and certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Occupational Medicine is mandatory. Currency must be demonstrated by documented, clinical, occupational medicine experience during the past two years. (or comparable experience as a Family Practice physician)

Knowledge:

· Advanced knowledge of occupational health principles, theories, concepts, and clinical practices in order to serve as a technical authority, provide expert advice and direction, and assist in the development of various health programs.

· Advanced knowledge of health hazards in the workplace and their preventive measures sufficient to establish evaluation methodologies, provide consultative services, and to develop and model programs suitable for specialized and clinical problems.

· Advance knowledge of regulatory guidelines such as OSHA Act of 1970 and FECA in order to ensure content of job-related medical surveillance of workers exposed to regulated hazards as required by law.

· Advanced knowledge of diseases and immunizations sufficient to counsel information/findings for employees.

· Advanced knowledge of the 75 ABW, OO-ALC, and 388 FW’s mission, functions, and objectives sufficient to consult with supervisors and other medical personnel in the establishment of medical regimes, perform direct care, provided health education and counseling, plan and direct occupational health programs.

· Knowledge of GENESIS and other ASIMS systems sufficient to enter and retrieve occupational health data; review and analyze health care statistics; and depict trends and tendencies.

TYPE OF WORK

The duties include but are not limited to the following:

· Medical care and treatment of work related injuries or illnesses of employees, and OSHA expanded standard required physicals.

· Appropriately reviews and interprets abnormal radiology, EKG, PFT, and lab results and explains the results and necessary follow-up guidance to the patient.

· Skill in written communication sufficient to respond to inquiries concerning occupational health issues and provides input to proposed or current regulations

· Works with the RNCM on cases requiring referral to an outside provider to ensure complex or difficult cases are addressed and tracked appropriately.

· Accomplishes RTW evaluations, OSHA physicals, deployments, and TDY physicals to make appropriate recommendations from findings.

· Recommends in conjunction with PH appropriate immunizations and prophylactic medication to civilian and qualified tenant employees going OCONUS TDY or on deployment.

· Participates in department’s in-services meetings/briefings, and in continuing QI measures.

· Demonstrates affirmative action in supporting and working with employees, superiors, and peers to establish and maintain a positive customer service environment to achieve AFMS Customer Satisfaction Priorities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $137.00 - $142.00 per hour
