- Assessment: Conduct comprehensive physical and psychological evaluations of patients to understand their limitations and goals.
- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized, holistic treatment plans focusing on the client, their environment, and the tasks they need to perform.
- Intervention: Teach new skills, recommend and train on adaptive equipment (e.g., for dressing, cooking), modify home/work environments, and design rehabilitation programs.
- Collaboration: Work with doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and caregivers as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Education: Train family members and caregivers on patient care and strategies to support independence.
- Evaluation: Monitor patient progress, re-evaluate goals, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
