We are seeking a versatile and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide support across both home health and school environments. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the COTA will assist in delivering individualized therapy services to clients in their homes and students in educational settings. The ideal candidate is flexible, organized, and passionate about helping individuals across the lifespan develop the skills necessary for daily living and learning.


Key Responsibilities:

In Home Health Settings:

  • Implement OT treatment plans to assist clients in regaining independence in daily activities.
  • Educate clients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, safety strategies, and home exercise programs.
  • Conduct home safety checks and suggest environmental modifications when appropriate.
  • Document client progress and report any changes in status to the supervising OT.
  • Travel to client homes and manage appointments independently, adhering to agency policies and safety standards.

In School Settings:

  • Carry out treatment plans that support students' educational goals and access to the curriculum.
  • Work with students on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, and task organization.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement accommodations in the classroom.
  • Document student progress and assist in data collection for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Support inclusive practices that enhance student participation in academic and non-academic settings.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current certification/licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of practice.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for home visits and travel between schools.
  • Comfortable working independently in varied environments (homes and schools).

Compensation

$50,000-$85,000 Depending on experience.
