Ocean Import/Export Coordinator (Freight Forwarding) – Miami, FL (Hybrid)

About the Role

We’re hiring an Ocean Import/Export Coordinator to run ocean shipments end-to-end. This is a hands-on operations role managing bookings, documentation, releases, drayage/CFS coordination, milestone tracking, and proactive customer updates.

You’ll use Magaya and OneDrive daily to manage shipment files and documentation.

What You’ll DoOcean Export

• Book ocean shipments with steamship lines/NVOCCs (FCL/LCL)
• Manage cutoffs and timelines (SI/VGM, documentation deadlines)
• Prepare/verify B/L instructions and export documentation
• Coordinate drayage, warehouse/CFS deliveries, and port transfers
• Track milestones (booking → gate-in → sailing) and resolve exceptions

Ocean Import

• Manage inbound shipments through U.S. gateways, including CFS and bonded cargo
• Coordinate with customs brokers, CFS/warehouse partners, and truckers for recovery and delivery
• Manage releases, holds, appointments, and final delivery (nationwide as needed)
• Proactively prevent demurrage, detention, and storage charges
• Keep customers updated through delivery and POD

Systems / File Control

• Maintain clean, audit-ready shipment files in Magaya + OneDrive
• Ensure milestones, internal notes, and documentation are complete to support accurate billing

Requirements

• 4+ years ocean freight forwarding operations experience (import/export)
• Strong knowledge of ocean workflows & documentation (B/L, releases, SI/VGM cutoffs, CFS/bonded)
• Comfortable coordinating with carriers/NVOCCs, terminals, drayage, warehouses/CFS, and customs brokers
• English + Spanish (professional working proficiency)
• Organized, detail-driven, able to manage multiple files under deadlines

Preferred

• Magaya experience (or similar forwarding system)
• Strong experience managing D&D risk and exception handling
• Familiarity with Incoterms and import/export compliance workflows
